Certain gun rights are immediately restored after passage of the statutorily mandated period of time after the conviction of a felony, however, almost all convicted felons must appear before the local gun board in order to restore weapon’s possession rights. Do not risk having strict federal or state criminal charges brought against you – make sure your rights are restored before you possess a gun.
